Pianos Hanlet
A textile façade that interacts with light
Pianos Hanlet is one of the most elegant examples of textile façades in commercial and cultural settings. The project grew out of the need to create a lightweight, contemporary cladding to transform the building into a recognisable architectural element.
As a historic Parisian piano manufacturer with a long-standing tradition of craftsmanship, Pianos Hanlet embodies cultural heritage and artistic excellence. The textile façade enhances this identity, giving the building a renewed visual presence that bridges legacy and modern architectural expression.
The transparency creates a unique atmosphere, both from the inside and the outside. This feature becomes the heart of the project, defining a new relationship between light, materials and perception of space.
Transparency and atmosphere: the value of light
The textile façade has been designed to achieve an effect of controlled transparency, which changes throughout the day and becomes more intense in the evening. At night, the building is illuminated from within and the membrane acts as a light filter that highlights volumes and geometries, creating an evocative and distinctive atmosphere.
In the evening, the façade comes to life: the transparency of the fabric filters the light from within and creates an evocative atmosphere, making the building instantly recognisable and giving the project a unique character.
Technical materials and advanced tensioning systems
The façade is made of high-performance technical fabrics, selected to ensure durability, stability and lasting aesthetic quality. For this project, fixing and tensioning systems were adopted that were specifically designed for the building’s architecture, choosing the most suitable technologies to ensure a perfectly stretched surface and achieve the desired aesthetic effect.
This design flexibility makes it possible to get perfectly taut, stable and visually clean surfaces.
Engineering design for guaranteed performance
The design was developed through technical analyses and simulations of the membrane’s behaviour under wind loads, ensuring safety and durability even in extreme conditions.
Our experts carry out the calculations and, where necessary, simulations of the membrane’s behaviour when subjected to wind loads: an engineering approach that ensures high performance and long-term reliability.
A solution that combines aesthetics, technology and identity
Pianos Hanlet’s textile façade shows how a lightweight cladding system can completely transform a building’s appearance, creating a balance of design, functionality and atmosphere.
The result is an architectural solution that conveys a sense of modernity, enhances both interior and exterior spaces, and confirms Solaris’s ability to deliver tailor-made projects of high technical and aesthetic quality.
